I need you to sit down & settle in for part two of my blog post from yesterday. About 15 minutes after it was published, my phone rang. Thanks to caller i.d., I knew it was one of the managers from my retail job. Forgetting that my phone was charging, I grabbed it only to have it ripped from my hands. While the ringing continued, I frantically searched my room on hands & knees. I finally found it on my bed (hold your laughter), but the ringing had already been replaced by a voicemail. I will now take you back to about one hour earlier. While eating dinner, my mom implied that I had to work that evening. I replied that she was thinking of my closing shift on Friday. I was 100% sure that I had two days off before my two weekend shifts so I didn’t even bother to check my schedule, which is something I do religiously. Fast forward to my manager’s voicemail. I was 15 minutes late for my closing shift, and she was wondering if I was ok & still coming in to work. In an outright panic, I called the store to let her know I would be there as soon as I could to replace a fellow associate who couldn’t stay much longer. Feeling like a horrible person, I got ready as fast as humanly possible, which is no easy task when you’re shaking like a leaf and clumsy. It would’ve been much easier if I hadn’t had a ton of coconut oil in my hair. I didn’t want to look like a greasy mess at work so I had to wash my hair, two shampoos required. I put on as little makeup as I was comfortable with and braided my hair, all of which looked as effortless as it actually was. A hoodie, jeans, and boots completed the look, and I was out the door. I received the call around 5:15 and made it to work right before 6. For the first hour my body was shaking uncontrollably, but I eventually settled down. It wasn’t the restful night I had planned, but everything turned out ok in the end. On the bright side, I am free as a bird today. Go ahead & laugh now. I am.

My clumsiness is no secret, but I have outdone myself. If you’re even the least bit squeamish, LEAVE NOW JUST IN CASE!!
1. On Friday September 15th while folding clothes at work, I looked down and realized my arm was scratched and bleeding; I still have no idea when or where it happened.
2. On Saturday September 16th while carrying a heavy sign at work, I stubbed my toe. It hurt momentarily, but I didn’t think anything of it. When I put the sign down, I realized my toe was bleeding… A LOT. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as it seemed; my toenail was only partially split, and the bruise caused very little discomfort.
3. Fast forward to Thursday September 21st. I was preparing my usual breakfast: coffee & a blueberry bagel with lactose free cream cheese. The cream cheese was brand new so I slid my finger around the container to loosen the lid. What you think happened did happen and required immediate medical attention. Nothing a quick patch up couldn’t fix! I went back to preparing my bagel and found myself uttering these words: “Dang it! I got cream cheese on my band-aid.”
4. I can’t remember the exact date, but I know that sometime that same week I tripped going up the stairs and scraped my leg in two places. I can’t even remember the last time this happened to me so it was bound to happen sooner or later. The bruises are still visible.
One, two, three, FOUR accidents in one week. That is quite possibly a record! The embarrassment is long gone so feel free to laugh at my expense. If you don’t want to laugh at me (I appreciate your loyalty), laugh at this girl. ⬇️
“Treat yourself to this luscious tropical getaway!! Juicy mango, freshly picked mandarins and sugared blackberries come together for an energizing burst of island aromas.”
“Savor the first bite of crisp green apples in a sun-kissed orchard! Refresh your spirit with this juicy fragrance that combines the scent of apples with a sophisticated blend of peaches and exotic flowers.”
“Love is in the air! Fall in love with this romantic blend of strawberries, peach, cotton candy and warm amber. The sweet aromas will fill the air with magic and passion.”
“Lure your imagination into a luscious field with juicy strawberries and plum blossom. The perfect blend of rich strawberry, juicy pomegranate and creamy vanilla will have you feeling ‘berry’ relaxed!”
I sat within a few feet of each soy candle while it burned. The scents smell exactly as described. They are subtle at first but grow stronger after the first hour; they don’t hit you all at once but rather in waves every few minutes. For the Green Apple candle, I changed the location to a central room in my house; after the three-hour burning time, every open room smelled like green apples. The fruit scents are my favorite because I’ve transitioned into spring/summer mode; they smell even better when the candle is lit, like grilled fruit for a summer BBQ. Sugar Kisses was a pleasant surprise because Charmed Aroma was nice enough to send it to me for free. I am happy to announce that it is not sickly sweet like candy but rather soft like vanilla.
“Ever dream of swimming with the dolphins? Take a dip into the turquoise waters and drift into a dream state. This fresh-scented bath bomb captures the pure marine notes of the sea that will have you dreaming of your next getaway!”
This bath bomb turned my bathwater into a gorgeous shade of turquoise blue but didn’t leave any stains. After one hour my skin smelled like I had spent a day at the spa. I’m not really sure how to describe the scent. It’s kind of floral but also a bit like watermelon. This is an odd thing to say, but the only thing I can compare it to is the Seabreeze Squeeze smoothie at Jamba Juice (cranberry/apple juice blend, orange sherbet, banana, raspberries, strawberries).
The first bath bomb arrived broken. I filed a complaint on March 31st and received a response on April 1st that my broken bath bomb would be replaced. I received an email on April 7th that Sea Breeze was out of stock and replied that Green Apple would be fine as a replacement, even though it isn’t what I ordered. My package shipped on April 19th and arrived on April 22nd. I wasn’t expecting it, but I did receive Sea Breeze. I am happy that the problem was resolved, and the customer service representatives were very nice. However, the process was frustrating. I initially wanted to place my first order back in February, but all the bath bombs on the website were out of stock. I waited a little over one month, and finally a new bath bomb was introduced. It arrived broken, and when I tried to get a replacement, it was out of stock. I said Green Apple would be fine, but my package took another two weeks to arrive because I was sent Sea Breeze. I ended up with what I ordered, but I wish someone had told me that was why my package took so long to ship. Due to lack of communication, I had no idea what was going on.
“Engage your senses every day with the tropical sensation of Charmed Aroma’s Acai Berry Body Scrub. Our unique sugar scrub formula contains a balance of gentle exfoliants and deep moisture that leave your skin healthy and refreshed. Massage generously onto skin with warm water.”
“Pamper your skin with an indulgence that lasts throughout the day. This rich, luxurious cream with natural coconut oils penetrate deep into the skin’s surface, infusing it with deep moisture and a silky soft feeling that lasts for 24 hours.”
“Pamper yourself with The Sterling Body Butter & Body Scrub Bundle. Each bundle contains (1) Sterling Mango Coconut Body Butter and (1) Sterling Acai Body Scrub.”
The scrub isn’t chunky and abrasive but rather like a gritty silly putty. I know that’s a weird description! Basically it’s great for sensitive skin. I recommend soaking in the tub after using the scrub to let the numerous oils soak into your skin; the silky smooth results are worth it. The creamy body butter adds even more moisture, and the combination of scents are a tropical match made in heaven. The lotion did make my sensitive skin a little red, but the irritation went away within a few minutes. After nine days, I had used approximately 75% of the scrub and 15% of the lotion. Perhaps I used too much scrub at once but I would say the lotion is a better value for the price.
*Note: If you like the Mango Coconut body butter, you will like the Aloha Mango candle and vice versa.
I placed my order on March 23rd. The package shipped on March 24th and arrived on March 31st. I am very happy with the quality of each product, and the beautiful jewelry is an added bonus. The earrings don’t hurt my ears, and the rings don’t make my fingers turn green. My one complaint is the Sugar Kisses ring has some kind of yellow glue on it which cheapens the look. The products are pricey so I wouldn’t recommend Charmed Aroma for value but rather a special treat every once in awhile. They are also a great resource for gifts. Happy shopping! 🛍️
I feel like a bear who hibernated through the spookiest month of the year and awakened just in time for the holiday season. I am currently watching Christmas movies on Hallmark whilst enjoying open windows & a cool Autumn breeze. Allow me to elaborate on where I’ve been. I had a cold for two weeks in September; when it went away, I thought my illness quota for the year was fulfilled. WRONG!! A little over one week later, the flu took me by the throat and refused to let go for a few weeks. A lingering cough wrecked my throat and made it really hard to talk. Of course that has no effect on a blogger, but it sure does put a damper on Youtube productivity. I still have a little bit of a cough, which is annoying beyond verbal description, but I am healthier and more energized than I was last month. I have a few more updates for you so keep on reading.
• I turned twenty-three on November 5th. Physically, I don’t look my age thanks to Baby Face Syndrome, but I am right on track mentally; I spend most of my time stressing about adult decisions and responsibilities. Growing up is awesome! 😭 In all seriousness, I had a fantastic birthday. I watched Christmas movies in the morning, ate Greek food with my family in the afternoon, visited Barnes & Noble in the evening (I may or may not have walked out with 2 books), & watched Impractical Jokers with my brother before bed. Not a bad day! 😊
• Allow me to introduce you to my new obsession: zoo live cams! For people who can’t afford frequent trips to the zoo, live videos of eight different animals are available on the San Diego Zoo website. Go ahead! Give in to your curiosity and take a peek! Hint: They are more active during the day, tigers excluded.
• I’m almost done with the 2016 Reading Challenge. I only have two more categories to complete. I will be posting a detailed update soon; in the meantime you can follow my Pinterest board and see all the books I’ve been reading.
I also joined the reading challenge on Goodreads by pledging to read at least 45 books before the end of the year. Find me using this link to see what books I have read:

I promised another Disney pin post, and here it is. I bought two limited edition pins on eBay and hoped for the best in terms of authenticity. I am pretty sure both pins are real (YAY!) but feel free to let me know in the comment section whether or not you think either pins are fake. If you want more of the surprise factor, press play on the video down below to watch me open the two packages and reveal the pins. If you want to skip ahead and see close up pictures, scroll down.
If you’re wondering what the heck is going on, here’s a basic synopsis: Since DC Comics threw their moviemaking hat into the ring that Marvel has dominated since the 2000s, fans have split down the middle, and it is heated. Relax! I’m not going to pick a side and start an argument. I’m here to talk about my disappointment. If you like a movie embraced by the majority, no one bats an eyelash. If you like a movie despised by the majority, all hell breaks loose. Why do people feel the need to bully individuals who like a certain movie?! No amount of argument is going to change someone’s personal feelings. You can hate a movie, but don’t attack someone who liked it. It isn’t difficult to walk away without saying something, especially on the internet.
This is a great time to be alive! The superheroes we grew up watching on TV are now on the big screen. We are getting films from DC and Marvel every single year. Why can’t we all just get along and agree that this is FREAKING awesome? If you like a movie, feel free to share and spread the love. If you didn’t like a movie, respect your fellow fans and consider keeping your opinion quiet or refraining from a review that is nothing other than a bashing session.
There’s only one way to end on a positive note. You’re welcome! 👍
July 4th, the day that Americans put the flag on display and shout their pride from the rooftops in honor of freedom. Now is the perfect time to share what makes me feel patriotic. I love my country, but I’m not the most vocal about it. However, there are two things that make my blood run red, white, & blue. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I respect that. But, I can’t help feeling rage when someone born and raised outside the American borders feels the need to judge. I am American-born and American-raised. I can count the number of times I’ve left this country on one hand. I speak English with an American accent. I received education and now work as an adult here. I can criticize this country because I am a citizen and know what I’m talking about (for the most part 😉). Think of it this way. As a brother or sister, you can tease your sibling(s) to your heart’s content, but God help the outsider who feels led to do the same. Suddenly you’re on the defensive! Perhaps that paints a clearer picture of my point. Moving on. I see or hear stories about soldiers every day, but nothing compares to seeing or meeting them in the flesh. As a retail employee, I meet military personnel of all races and ages and feel an indescribable level of honor and pride to serve them. I respect the diverse group of people willing to train and fight for this country. If any soldiers, past or present, are reading this, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It’s that time of year folks, the time when earth feels like it’s roasting inside a sauna over the flames of hell. When I’m not concealing sweat at work, I’m sitting in front of a fan at home pretending I live in a colder climate. Not only is it hot, but California is rain-free, dry, and on high alert for fires. Fun times! Now that I’ve brought you up to speed on the weather report, prepare yourself for a story eerily similar to one I told one year ago. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, click the following link and study up:
The night was June 21, 2016 and the time approximately midnight. The night air was refreshingly cool. The window was open and the fan blasting. I was spread out on the couch preparing to enjoy some therapy a-la-Netflix. In one moment, my seemingly perfect summer night came screeching to a halt. I heard the haunting buzz of a large insect and wasted no time in jumping off the couch and turning on the light. As soon as I did so, I caught sight of movement in the window. The volume of my voice raised slightly as I exclaimed that there was a bug inside the house. He was not very happy with my actions because next thing I know he’s flying at me. I ran down the stairs yelling “NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!” My mom came out of her bedroom to see what was going on, and my dad expressed concern from the comfort of his bed. Armed with a shoe and Lysol, I made my mom accompany me while I checked every single window in the house. I was not about to sleep with a huge bug on the loose!! After many tears and a panic attack, I shut myself in my room (after numerous inspections) and did my best to sleep despite intense anxiety and a migraine. The next day my mom informed me that she had found a dead June bug in her bedroom. I felt immediate deja vu. What is it with my mom and I fighting June bugs??!!!
Don’t you just love summer?? 😡

If you like time period shows, nursing, midwifery, heartwarming stories, or all of the above, this show is for you. Me and my mom, a former nurse, are madly in love!
Best concert of my life so far! If you are into metal, show support for the four bands by visiting their respective websites and giving their music a chance.
Thanks to encouragement from my mom, I gave denim vests a chance and have no regrets. This is a great layering piece for warm weather, and I will venture to say that it will be equally adorable in colder months with long-sleeve tops.
When I turned 21, I started to get light acne. If you have this same struggle, I highly recommend this product. It does dry out your skin, but the effects are not drastic. A little extra moisturizer is all you will need. However, keep in mind that my results may vary from your own.
I am not a fan of berry scents; they tend to be too strong for my taste. This lotion is a bit strong and headache-provoking, but the scent lightens when it comes in contact with my skin. I have been wearing it ALL month. I am glad I gave it a chance!
Just in case you did not understand the title: I need coffee!!!!!!!!!! There is some repairs going on in my family’s house. One of the bathrooms being worked on is in my bedroom therefore I had to get up early in order to accommodate the workers. WHY WHY WHY??? This is so cruel. Waking up at 9am is not okay with me. I feel like a zombie. As you can tell, I am having a dramatic morning, which is why I am blogging. Drama is so much more amusing. Well, from your point of view. I am not so amused at the moment. I could be encouraged with, oh I don’t know, maybe some COFFEE. A muffin would also be lovely. The funny thing is I drink decaf coffee so my need is not so much for caffeine as it is for taste. The taste of (flavored) coffee energizes me. Sorry! I am not a purist. If anyone is curious, my current staple drinks at Starbucks are hazelnut frappuccinos (Tall, decaf, sugar free, soy) and iced caramel macchiatos (Tall, decaf, iced, soy).
Have a great day readers. Drink some coffee in honor of me! Please & thank you.
– Lauren Michele :)
11:35 am Update: I got my tall, decaf, sugar free, iced, soy caramel macchiato and a blueberry muffin. Yay!!
